The airline started by Alaskan aviation pioneer Noel Wien went through
many names during its colorful life, was a beloved presence in the
skies of the Last Frontier, and to this day its demise is lamented by
Once upon a time Wien presented nice certificates to those who crossed
the Arctic Circle on its flights to Kotzebue, Fort Yukon and Point
Barrow. Here's an example presented to a lady who took a Wien
flight to Fort Yukon in 1955. The pilots and stewardess
signed it, too. Framed with this one is a card certifying the
recipient had visited the farthest North branch of Northern Commercial
Co. -- "Alaska's Pioneer Merchants." Both the certificate and
the card are in their original frame.

Peeler for both the
certificate and the caption.
