Delta DC-8-51

Delta DC-8-51 N803E is seen about to make a right turn into the airline's limited gate space at O'Hare, on October 30, 1968.  I always liked   the full "Delta Air Lines" titling on its fleet, and was happy when it turned the famous widget from sideways - as seen on the DC-9s in the background - to upright. Delta's early delivery DC-8s, including N803E, were upgraded from turbojet to turbofan engines and given a fresh  new livery.  Note the small "Fanjet" titling on the tail.
