Pacific Martin 404
Ah, the days of innocence, when taking a family member or friend to the airport was fun and truly open to the public. Three boys line up at the fence in a January 25, 1964 picture I took at San Jose, California, just before boarding Pacific Air Lines Martin 404 Flight 422 for a short hop up to San Francisco. Originally flown by Eastern, N455A pauses only briefly, with it's starboard engine left running during the station stop. While one ground agent assists deplaning passengers, another handles luggage from a scissor lift at the forward door, utilizing main cabin storage. If memory serves me, I was the only boarding passenger at SJC. (Jon Proctor photo)
